Unlike synthetic materials like polyester, wool is a breathable fibre and it provides instant warmth. It regulates itself to individual body temperature and really is warm in winter whilst cool in summer.
Wool is naturally water-resistant, repelling moisture vapor through its fibres and making it resistant to rot, mold and mildew.
Wool is amazing for its sustainability as sheep are not intensively reared. It grows as hair on goats, sheep, llamas and rabbits, occurs naturally and is renewable as it quickly grows back. At the end of its life, wool is bio-degradable in soil, releasing important nutrients. However, if you invest in a decent wool blanket, you will never throw it away and it will last for generations.
Wool, like cowhide, is a highly practical fibre: it is easy to clean because dirt sits on the surface of the fibre (so can be wiped off), it needs very little washing or laundry. When washed, it dries quickly.
A very important point is that it is naturally flame-retardant. It is the perfect product for hospitality use: Bed & Breakfasts, hotels, workplaces, etc.
Naturally anti-allergenic, wool doesn’t collect static which attracts dust and dirt: if you are allergic to house-mites or dust, wool accessories are the best answer to your problem for sure. This is also why a lot of our customers who suffer from asthma or eczema buy our wool accessories or choose some famous brands like Roberta Licini or Abraham Moon.
