Ever since 2014, the flamingo started to make an initially silent but stylish come-back, it is now "everywhere" in 2017! Whereas in the past it was associated with a "tacky" look, it is now one of the hottest trends in interiors. Where does that enthusiasm for that bird come from? I am not sure I am able to answer that question. I sat one day to think if I also had a true passion for that bird because "I always loved flamingos" or if I had been influenced by magazines, social media etc. And the answer is probably a mix of both. I love the birdie a lot but try not to insert it too much in my own interiors! I picked an original pair of pink Flamingos by the American artist Don Featherstone. My flamingos fit perfectly with our Oleanders in the garden ;-)
The flamingo design is really unlimited. You can choose it indoor or outdoor: as decorative garden accessory, tableware, printed artwork for your walls, on fabrics or wallpapers, lamps, cushions, napkins etc. Whichever options you choose (or all of them!?! A bit OTT non?) those will be fabulous statement pieces.
Today, I would like to focus on wallpapers and to give you my top choices (a mix of low and highly-priced) I had to source alternative designs and priced products for a local project in Essex and thought it might be of interest for your to see what I found.
Don't hesitate to share in the "comments" area your thoughts and any Flamingo designs you like/came across too!
